The Frozen Yogurt
After my diet I am feeling great but I need to maintain this balance without feeling restricted towards food. In order to keep everything balanced and keep my sweet tooth satisfied I decided to try out the frozen yogurt and I am glad I did. Its wonderful, its tasty and its healthy not to mention super easy. What more can a girl ask for :)
Yogurt is one of the super foods. Its contains the goodness of calcium and it packs a punch of probiotics. Frozen yogurt along with some fresh fruits can replace our daily dose vitamins and calcium supplements.
Froyo is very simple, all natural and flexible recipe. You can play around with just about anything in the recipe, be it the texture or your choice of fruit or the kind of garnishing. Play around with this recipe and I guarantee you, you'll never get enough of it. So lets start with this amazing desert.
Ingredients you need,
Yogurt
Any fresh fruit
Dry fruits
Vanilla extrac t- 3 drops
Honey
Cream(optional)
We preferably need a little thicker yogurt to make this recipe, sort of the consistency of greek yogurt. If you do not have greek yogurt or you do not know what is greek yogurt, do not worry. If you have a regular curd just hang it for 20-25 minutes in a muslin cloth and you are good to go.
Once you have your yogurt ready, put all the ingredients in a blender except the dry fruits and blend it until smooth. when I saw the ripe strawberries at the super market I just could not resist, so I am using strawberries as base and pomegranate seeds for garnishing today. Once the mixture is blended taste for the sweetness. Once the yogurt is frozen the sweetness seems to be reduced so always use some extra honey even if you feel the yogurt is sweet enough for you at the room temperature.
Now all we have to do is freeze it for couple of hours. When you are ready to serve take out the frozen yogurt and blend for 5 seconds. This helps break those ice crystals and smooths out the texture. Garnish with dry fruits. You might also like to garnish it with muesli as it gives an interesting combination of crunchy and smooth textures in your mouth. You can check my home made muesli recipe here.
Like I have told you before, play around with the recipe. You can even include you kids in the process, ask them to chose which fruit goes in and which dry fruit should be used for garnishing. I am sure they will be happy from the making to till finishing it. :)

Very nice and healthy dessert :) Indeed easy to prepare :P
